RETURNS, REFUNDS, REPLACEMENTS, AND CANCELATIONS
1. Vendor Policy Responsibility and MatMall’s Overriding Authority
Vendors are primarily responsible for establishing their own refund, return, replacement, and cancellation policies. These policies must be fully set up and configured through the Vendor’s account dashboard before any sale can be conducted on the platform. All such policies must be clearly communicated to both MatMall and the buyer. If a Vendor fails to set and publish their own policies prior to a transaction, MatMall’s default platform policies shall automatically overrule and apply. MatMall retains full authority to enforce either the Vendor’s stated policies or MatMall’s default policies when necessary.
2. MatMall’s Discretionary Authority
MatMall retains sole and absolute discretion to establish, alter, evaluate, and determine all conditions, procedures, eligibility criteria, and timelines governing product returns, order cancellations, refunds, and replacements for transactions conducted on the Platform.
3. Binding Nature of MatMall Determinations
The Vendor explicitly agrees that MatMall’s determination regarding any Buyer claim—including claims relating to product defects, failure to meet Nigerian Industrial Standards, weight or quantity shortfalls, delayed fulfillment, or specification mismatches—shall be final, conclusive, and legally binding on the Vendor.
4. Vendor Obligations Upon Adverse Finding
Where MatMall determines that a Buyer is entitled to a refund, replacement, or price adjustment:
- Compliance: The Vendor shall immediately comply with MatMall’s directive to repair, replace, or collect the non-conforming goods at the Vendor’s sole expense.
- Financial Recovery: MatMall is authorized to withhold, debit, or offset the full refund value, along with any associated administrative or return-logistics costs, from the Vendor’s pending payouts, Escrow funds, or future sales proceeds.
5. Custom and Bulk Goods
Exemptions or modifications made to general return procedures for customized, made-to-order, or bulk structural materials, shall be evaluated solely at MatMall’s discretion and on a case-by-case basis.
